Ever heard the term sexting? It's a growing craze among the teen set. Sexting is sending sexually explicit text or pics via your cellphone. Metro calls it an epidemic!
I have to tell you, I was surprised at how many teens knew about it... and what they said about why they do it despite the risk of ruining their reputation. There are serious legal and emotional consequences. One teen said if you break up with a boy, and he shows your picture around school.. "it's like a big death sentence." Many girls said you'll be labeled a tramp, while the boy gets away looking cool. But that's not necessarily true. You might be surprised to find out what that boy could face legally.
My colleague, Kendall Tenney, and I are teaming up to bring you a special on sexting on Monday at 5 and 6PM. We hope you make a special effort to watch. Researching it, really opened our eyes. We hope you find it informative too.
