Metro seeks help finding robbery suspects

The following is a news release from the LVMPD:

On March 9, 2010, at approximately 10:15 p.m. a male victim called the L.V.M.P.D. Dispatch Center to report he was the victim of a robbery which had just occurred at 150 South Jones Boulevard, near the intersection of Jones Boulevard and Edgewood Ave.
Arriving patrol officers and medical personnel located the victim, who had visible trauma to his face. The victim reported two (2) black male adults had approached him from behind and struck him multiple times in the head and face, knocking him to the ground. The suspects then demanded the victim’s money. Upon learning the victim did not possess any money or valuables, the suspects fled the area on foot.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries, which included multiple facial fractures, a broken nose and a laceration over his left eye.

The suspects are described as:

Suspect #1 is a black male adult, approximately 20-25 years of age, standing 5'9'’ to 6'0'’ tall and weighing approximately 170 pounds with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
Suspect #2 is also a black male adult, approximately 20-25 years of age, standing 5'9'’ to 6'0'’ tall and weighing approximately 170 pounds with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. Additionally, this suspect had sideburns which extended along the jaw line, and came together on the chin.

Hit and Run suspect caught on cell phone camera


Update on 1/22/'10: Henderson Police have identified the suspect.

This is a news release sent to Crime Tracker 3 from the Henderson (NV) Police Department:

Henderson, Nev. – The Henderson Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance for information in connection with a hit-and-run accident last week where a pedestrian was struck. A picture of the driver was captured by a witness with a cell phone.

A 15-year-old boy was riding a skateboard on Fir Street about 4:20 p.m., Jan. 12, on the left side of the roadway. He saw a car turn onto Fir Street from Center Street so he moved to the curb. The driver of the car then struck the boy and drove off. The boy was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Another teen nearby heard the accident and turned around to see the boy on the ground and the car stopped next to him. The teen took a picture of the car’s windshield with his cellular phone. The picture shows the damage to the windshield where the 15-year-old boy was stuck and the driver. Another witness said the car was a green or teal colored Nissan Altima.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the accident, did not render any assistance to the victim and did not call 911. A passerby called 911.

Skimming Scam


The LVMPD Financial Crimes Section is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects who placed a skimming device on an ATM in the northwest area of town. A skimming device is a instrument that can read and record the numbers of a customer’s debit card as the card is being used.
On November 11 , these two suspects placed this device on a walk up ATM and removed it th t later the same day.
The lead detective in this case is Detective James Beatty. Anyone who has information on these suspects are encouraged to contact Det Beatty at 828-4392 or if they wish to remain anonymous they may call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.

Manhunt Monday: George Rojas


On September 9, 2008 Metro narcotics officers arrested George Rojas for numerous charges following an investigation into the illegal sale of controlled substances. Rojas, however, was released on bail, and has failed to appear in court as ordered. He is therefore wanted on outstanding felony warrants for:
• Trafficking in Cocaine,
• Possession of methamphetamine with the intent to sell, and
• Possession of Cocaine with the intent to sell.

Nearly a year later, on September 3, 2009, Rojas became involved in an argument with his sister. The argument turned violent, and Rojas attacked his sister and attempted to strangle her. When other family members intervened, his victim was able to escape and call the police. Rojas fled the area prior to the arrival of officers, and is currently wanted for:
• Battery, domestic violence, and
• Felony Domestic battery by strangulation.

Rojas is a Hispanic male adult, 27 years of age, standing 5'8" tall and weighing approximately 200 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes.

He also sometimes goes by the names of:
• Eric Gonzalez, and
• Enrique Rojas.

Rojas has a 1" scar near his left eye. His last known address was in the 3500 block of Lake Mead. He is also known to frequent the apartments located in the 2300 block of Rock Springs Drive. Both addresses are within Las Vegas.

Prior to these crimes Rojas’s criminal history consisted of traffic and driving
related offenses.

Manhunt Monday: Maurice White

Maurice White is a black male adult, 46 years of age, standing 6'0" tall and
weighing 170 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. White has numerous
a.k.a.’s, and often uses the last names of:
• Moser,
• Brown,
• Evans, and,
• Milton,
He also frequently uses the first name of Michael, with the last names of:
• Eggleston,
• Evans,
• Etheridge, and
• Goldman.
Other names used have been:
• Larry Eggleston,
• Keith Johnson,
• Charles Powers, and
• Phillip Sharpe,
What White cannot change are the scars which he has on his forehead, his
left arm , his left cheek, near his right eye, and on his left elbow. He also
sometimes wears glasses.
White’s last known address is in the 3700 block of Shadow tree street in
North Las Vegas.
White has an extensive criminal record including:
• Battery on a Police Officer by a Prisoner,
• Larceny from a person
• numerous counts of burglary,
• numerous counts of theft a and possession of stolen property
charges,
• numerous counts of obtaining / possessing credit cards without the
owners consent,
• Conspiracy to commit burglary,
• Conspiracy to commit grand larceny,
• Obtaining money under false pretenses, and traffic related offenses.
In late 2003 White and a female accomplice entered a local hotel casino
intent on victimizing the patrons. The two worked as a team stealing
wallets from the purses of distracted slot machine players. For this crime
White is currently wanted on an outstanding felony warrant for Burglary.
White is still believed to be in the Las Vegas area.
