Metro to Host 5K for “Peacekeepers’ Kids”

The following is a news release from LVMPD:
The men and women of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department have joined forces with the Police Athletic League (PAL) to create the inaugural 5K run for Peacekeepers’ Kids. The event is a fund-raiser, with 100% of the proceeds going to the children of police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 8, 2010, at 8:00 a.m. The race will start and finish at the Police Memorial Park located at 3250 Metro Academy Way, with a barbeque to follow. The cost of registration is $40.00 which includes a commemorative T-shirt. The same T-shirts will be sold on race day for $20.00.

Last year Metro lost four officers in the line of duty. The Department hopes for a good turnout in support of the children of those who gave all.
